Living on a beautiful green tropical island means it rains here a lot! I totally get that the last thing you want is to get soaking wet within the first part of your photoshoot giving off wet rat vibe. I wanted to make a blog post to talk all about the weather and what to expect if the forecast is looking rainy. Taking the wet rat vibe to the notebook vibe.
- We can always switch location! On Maui we have tons of places to explore, that also means that is is almost always sunny somewhere on the island. If it is raining at your locations we can always switch to another beautiful location. Unless we are under a statewide hurricane warning, it will be sunny somewhere on the island.
- We can reschedule the date. I only book 3-4 sessions a week so I can almost always push the date around.
- I always make “the call” a few hours before the session. I have noticed that the weather here changes super quickly. One minute it will be 80% chance of rain and the next couple hours 0% chance of rain. While I will always be in touch with you the day before the session so we can talk about the options. We will make the call a couple hours before the session.
- Embrace the rain! A lot of the time the forecast will say it’s going to be sunny skies with a 0% chance of rain… and then it randomly starts sprinkling. A little bit of a sprinkle is honestly so much fun to shoot in! If it is pouring we can dig deep and channel our inner “Allie + Noah” from The Notebook.
